Samsung Biologics named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index two years in a row
Samsung Biologics announced today that the company has been listed by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for two consecutive years, ranking 2nd in the Life Science Tools & Services Sub-Industry index.
Launched in 1999, the DJSI is considered one of the world’s most reliable benchmarks used to evaluate the sustainability performance of thousands of publicly traded companies across the globe. Samsung Biologics has ranked in the top 10% among over 2,500 global companies in terms of overall ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) performances and accomplishments.
The company has been actively engaging in various ESG efforts across its operations. Since its founding in 2011, the company has continued to give back to its local communities through a youth scholarship endowment, a local medical outreach program, and more, as well as enhance its corporate transparency by ensuring compliance with laws and ethics. More recently in 2021, it joined two separate global initiatives – Frontier 1.5D and the Sustainable Markets Initiative – helping to lead cross-industry climate efforts and to decarbonize supply chains in healthcare.
