Dr. Kyusung Lee is Executive Vice President in charge of Contract Manufacturing Operation 1 of Samsung Biologics.

Dr. Lee began his career with Miller Brewing Company in 1991 as a biochemical engineer. He led the production team for Amoco BioProducts Corporation from 1992 to 1995 and was responsible for the technology transfer of a full scale biotechnology process, after which Dr. Lee moved to Merck & Co. During his tenure at Merck from 1995 to 2005, Dr. Lee participated in the design, construction, start-up, technology transfer, and commercial operation of Biologics and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
From 2005 to 2010, Dr. Lee assumed responsibilities for technology transfer activities for Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.'s CMO programs.
Dr. Lee holds a doctoral degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University.
Sam Machour is Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer in charge of Quality, Regulatory and Compliance at Samsung Biologics.
detail openPrior to joining Samsung Biologics in 2019, Mr. Sam Machour spent more than 30 years supporting MedTech, Bioscience and Biopharmaceutical companies achieve business operational excellence and gain leadership in the areas of Research & Development, Quality, Regulatory, Operations and product Commercialization.
Mr. Machour served in a variety of positions of increased responsibility and scope and held senior and global leadership roles at Lonza, Becton Dickinson, Pfizer, J&J and Boehringer Ingelheim.
Mr. Machour holds a Master’s degree from Concordia University in Physics and is a board member of George Mason University in Songdo.
Dongjoong Kim is Senior Vice President and Managing Director in charge of the Business Resources Innovation Center which includes the Finance Team, Business Innovation Team and Global Employee Satisfaction Team.

James Park is Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Global Business Development Center responsible for BD Operations Team, BD Innovation Team, BD Integration Team, Drug Product and small-scale CMO of Samsung Biologics.
detail openPrior to joining Samsung Biologics in 2015, Mr. Park held various technical and operational positions, as well as business development management leadership positions in biopharmaceutical companies in the U.S.
Mr. Park began his career in 1989 with ALZA Corporation, a subsidiary of J & J, as a chemical engineer where he participated and led process and product development, technology transfer, validation and commercialization of several OROS products. He then worked in Technical & Alliance Management at Watson Pharmaceuticals. Transitioning to Merck as a Change Agent/Six Sigma Project Manager, Mr. Park then managed the Operational Excellence projects related to process improvements, cost savings and quality initiatives.
From 2004 to 2015, Mr. Park participated in and directed 100+ CMC due diligences on assets ranging from pre-clinical to commercial products, and managed Global Manufacturing & Supply BD activities including Licensing, Outsourcing and M&A at Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Mr. Park has over 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical industries.
James Yoon is Senior Vice President and the Managing Director of the CC&C Center responsible for Communication, Procurement and Contract Development Services of Samsung Biologics.

Mr. Yoon began his career with Samsung in 1986. Mr. Yoon led the business development and financial restructuring of Samsung General Chemicals from 1997 to 2003. Mr. Yoon managed administration for the Joint Venture, including the negotiation of major license agreement for petrochemicals production plants.
James Choi is Senior Vice President and Chief Information & Marketing Officer and head of Investor and Global Public Relations at Samsung Biologics.

Mr. Choi then transitioned to the Informatics and Security industry and was CIO for a major background investigations, insurance intelligence, and commercial pre-employment screening company. Mr. Choi most recently served as CIO for Beckman Coulter’s Clinical Diagnostics and Life Sciences companies.
Mr. Choi has over 25 years of organizational and technology leadership experience in the healthcare and informatics industries.
Dr. Kun Lo is Senior Vice President and Head of Drug Substance Business Unit 3.

Dr. Lo began his career with Samsung General Chemicals in 1992, then developed chemical products and managed manufacturing for 18 years in Samsung Total Petrochemical. In 2013, Dr. Lo advanced through Engineering expertise as a manager of Engineering Support Team and Process Design in Samsung Engineering.
Dr. Lo assumed responsibilities for planning global business as a New Business Team Leader and Head of US corporation in Samsung Engineering.
Dr. Lo holds a doctor’s degree from Seoul National University in Chemical Engineering.
Andy Yongsin Kim is Vice President and Managing Director of the GCS center responsible for the Global Employee Satisfaction (Overall HR duties), Information Security and Environment, Safety & Health services at Samsung Biologics.

Most notably, he carried out his duties from 2004 to 2009 by establishing Samsung’s new brand presence in three countries in Eastern Europe (HU,CZ,SK), supporting sales & manufacturing, and overseeing all HR affairs.

Ms. Yang has over 20 years of experience in biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical industries.
Ms. Yang began her career in 1997 as a Pharmacist at Seoul National University Hospital, then expanded her career into the pharmaceutial industry as a Product/Brand Manager in Sales & Markeing with global pharmaceutical companies such as Roche, Eli Lilly. Ms. Yang then continued her career as a Registered Pharmacist in the U.S, until she joined Samsung in 2011.
Daniel Slone is Vice President and Head of Drug Substance Business Unit 1 and 2.
detail openPrior to joining Samsung Biologics in 2014, Mr. Slone held various management positions in manufacturing process inclduing GMP operation, tech transfer and validation.
Mr. Slone began his career with Nabi Biopharmaceuticals in 1972 as a Technician/Shift Supervisor and advanced through Manufacturing Manager. Then, Mr. Slone assumed responsibilities for start-up operations, equipment installation, complete facility validation, technology transfer and scale up, which further advanced to maintaining GMP operations, production, schedules, and process changeovers.
Mr. Slone now overesees cell culture and purification process of both Plant 1 and 2.
