We consider safety, health & environment as our top priority in all decisions and ensure this policy is thoroughly executed.

Samsung Biologics practices compliance with safety environment policies throughout its business management activities, including operations, products & services, logistics & distribution, audits, mergers & acquisitions, etc. Furthermore, Samsung Biologics shares safety environment policies to all stakeholders under its supervision, including employees & executives, partners, vendors & suppliers, etc. Vendors and suppliers are evaluated under these standards as well.

At Samsung Biologics, the Chief Safety Officer (CSO) holds the responsibility and authority over the execution of safety & health management policies & major issues related to improving performance.

1. Safety & Health Management System
- (1) Samsung Biologics operates goals and monitoring systems to improve the performance of the safety & health management system under the supervision of the board and CEO.
- (2) Samsung Biologics convenes Industrial Safety & Health Committee meetings four times a year, which is a labor management consultative body on the topic of safety and health. All safety and health-related agenda that are subject to Committee-level deliberation and resolution are disclosed to the entire workforce.

Samsung Biologics runs a working-level organization of safety environment team dedicated to securing employees’ occupational safety, minimizing risks, and realizing safety and health management under the SHE policy. The team is assigned with following roles and responsibilities with regards to Samsung Biologics’ safety management.
- A. Implement regular safety risk evaluation on the application scope of the policy.
- B. Improvement actions of safety risks and harmful & hazardous factors
- C. Monitor the companywide safety & health management system & assess its effectiveness
- D. Continuously improve the control system in line with the domestic and international industrial safety and health trends.
- E. Raise the employee SHE competency & awareness through SHE education and training
2. Implementation of Safety & Health
- · The management shall acknowledge the value of safety and health and lead by example by setting them as the top priority goals.
- · Samsung Biologics shall establish and execute a stringent safety and health management system which includes compliance with domestic and international regulations and international standards, and collective agreements and the operation of safety and health programs to prevent accidents.
- · The company’s SHE programs are routinely conducted [constant, quarterly, annually (once per year)], based on the following activities.

Dangerous work management
- Focused management of dangerous works: assess the risk of each work situation & operate a work permit system for dangerous works
- Site monitoring: site safety management inspection for manufacturing sites, labs, etc.
- Improve detection of potential danger: identify and report potential & establish cause analysis-based preventive measures

Risk & Regular assessment
- Process risk assessment: regular assessment & improvement of process risks, prevention of accidents such as fire/explosion/leakage, etc.
- Routine department assessment: safety management status assessment of each department based on safety/health/environment/chemical-substance standards

Emergency response training
- Emergency response training: establish scenarios for efficient/systemic addressment of human and material resources & execute training
- BCMS operation: establish & monitor a companywide risk management system that includes SHE risks

Dangerous work management
- · In order to foster a safe and healthy work environment, Samsung Biologics shall guarantee the discussion of safety environment activities and participation of the entire workforce, identify every safety and health risk factor, and improve them continuously.
- · All risks within the company premises are managed under the risk assessment system, and they are improved through the process of risk prioritization and plan setting. Furthermore, quantitative targets & action plans are set in place and pursued to improve SHE performance indicators.
- * Zero-accident in the workplaces & 100% completed the mandatory safety trainings.
- · Samsung Biologics shall continuously improve the safety & health management system, identify and provision resources required for the improvement.

1. Environment Management Policy
- (1) Samsung Biologics operates goals and monitoring systems to improve the performance of the environment management system under the supervision of the board and CEO.

Samsung Biologics runs a working-level organization of environment group dedicated to analyzing the environmental impact of our business activities, minimizing the environment pollutions, and improving environment performance. The group is assigned with following roles and responsibilities with regards to Samsung Biologics’ environment management.
- A. Run regular environmental risk evaluations
- B. Disclose environment performance and target implementation status
- C. Monitor the environment management system
- D. Continuously revise the management system in line with domestic and international environment regulatory trends.
2. Environment Management Execution
- · Samsung Biologics will establish an environmental management system for the entire value chain of our company, conduct regular diagnosis, establish and implement countermeasures to continuously improve environmental performance.
- · Samsung Biologics shall comply with domestic and international environmental regulations, and establish and implement Samsung Biologics' own environmental management system that is stricter than legal requirements.
- · Samsung Biologics shall lead a sustainable future by continuously improving the reduction of environmental pollutants and improving environmental performance every year through the operation of the environmental management system.

- · Samsung Biologics will implement the Board of Directors deliberation/approval procedures when establishing and changing SHE policies for safety, health & environment (SHE) risk management.
- · Samsung Biologics will make best efforts to develop awareness of internal and external stakeholders including our entire workforce through safety, health and environment training.
- · Samsung Biologics will disclose our safety, health and environment management system and the performance of the implementation status on our website and ESG report in order to share those with all of our entire workforce, clients and stakeholders.
