Samsung Breaks Ground for Biopharmaceutical Plant
Today, the venture - Samsung Biologics - held a groundbreaking ceremony in the free economic zone at the port city of Incheon, west of Seoul, for the state-of-the-art manufacturing plant with a cell culture capacity of 30,000 liters. Samsung Biologics, which is investing 330 billion won ($303 million) to set up the plant, expects to complete construction by the end of 2012 and produce biopharmaceutical drugs starting in the first half of 2013.
