Samsung Biologics has entered the U.S. market with the $353 million acquisition of GSK's Rockville, MD manufacturing facility, adding 60,000 liters of capacity and bringing its total global capacity to 845,000 liters. The move is the first step in a "3D Expansion Strategy" spanning capacity, portfolio, and geography, establishing a strategic North American foothold while continuing GSK's manufacturing and onboarding new global clients.
